Wow, very strange how this all came together but I certainly appreciate your diligence. I just tested on my end and sure enough - all is good now!

Thanks for your help!

It doesn't seem to be a browser cache issue because it happens on multiple devices I've tried it on. Even though, I did try using the Facebook links you suggested but with no success.

Please look at http://djphoto.com/people/ and try using the Facebook link to see if you see something differently. In this one particular gallery I do not see the Facebook link ever working. Thanks!

I have several pages set-up in Showkase with Juicebox galleries. Some work as I would expect when the Facebook link is tapped. However, when the Facebook link is selected on others there is a message that always says "Sorry, this feature isn't available right now: An error occurred while processing this request. Please try again later".

Also there appears to be no definitive pattern as to which picture shows when the Facebook link does show one. Most times, it is the index picture. Some times, it is not.

Is there something I may not have set properly?

FYI, I did a system repair within Showkase and that seems to of fixed the problem.

BTW, I ran the server compatibility test without any issues.  Unfortunately though, the site still cannot be accessed by anyone.

I just upgraded to the newest version of Showkase Pro. I singed into the admin panel and hit "publish".  It takes me to a page that says: "Welcome to your New Showkase Web Site. This is a temporary home page. To manage your site sign-in to Showkase Admin".

I then log-in again and it keeps taking me in a loop. What's going on? Please help ASAP!

It would be great to have the ability for a "fixed" header, while still allowing the the body of the page be scrollable.

Is there any way to keep the website links that are at the top of the page visible while viewers scroll down to read the text portion? I see on many websites where the top section stays "fixed" while the lower part of the page is scrollable and am hoping this can be accomplished with a setting I am just not utilizing.

I have logged a bug report but workarounds would be to avoid the above combination of circumstances by either:
(1) not using a Gallery Title, or
(2) setting screenMode="LARGE", or
(3) setting showSplashPage="AUTO", or
(4) setting showSmallThumbsOnLoad="FALSE" and showSmallThumbsButton="TRUE".
I realise these are not ideal solutions but hopefully they will keep you on the right track until the bug is fixed.

I went with not using the Gallery Title... not loving it, but seems to be the best choice for the time being. After clicking on a thumbnail so the photo can be seen larger works while the phone is held in portrait mode. When rotating  to landscape mode it remains very small. Shouldn't it be sizing the image up to fill the width? A good example of what I am talking about can be seen at http://djphoto.com/location/. The 3rd image across has a very wide aspect ratio, but you don't experience that at all when rotating the Android phone to horizontal.

I apologize Steven, but new problem from before. I am using Showkase Pro 1.4.0 and it is working properly on Firefox, IE and Chrome on the desktop. However the Juicebox gallery is not scrolling or allowing the individual pictures to be selected to view one at a time and then just scroll to the next on an Android phone. I have tried both Chrome and the standard Android browser, both with the same results. It does show the thumbnails and indicates that there are more more pages ahead (ie. 1 of 3) but does not move properly from one to the next. Please let me know what may be causing this problem. Here is one of the problem galleries http://djphoto-video.com/location/.

In the meantime, if you really want to have responsive videos in your site, you could always revert to a single column layout (narrow or wide) for your video page (rather than remove the 'fitvids.js' code).

I tried this last route you recommended and think it's the best solution until a permanent fix is made. Thanks for your help!

I went with this latter suggestion because it seemed like a better workaround just because I won't have to worry about remembering to redo the code each time I update the site. It seems to be working fine (although unresponsively as you warned) now- thanks!

As I searched around through previous notes is where I found this way that you originally suggested back in March of 2015. I actually had forgotten about having this issue back then... until it happened again after this last Showkase update. Having said that, this appears to not be a new problem. Any chance that the developers will get to this anytime soon? Truly, I'm grateful that this works as an interim measure, but it would be much better if the videos did size responsively like the rest of the site.

I found a notation from a long time back that was referencing making the same change you talk about, but to the "_themes/base/pagetypes/basetheme.tpl".  If I do it there will it not require me to change the code after each update?  Will it cause any other changes to happen throughout the site?

Actually I think I found a note I created a long time back about removing some code referring to: fitVids.js     Does this still apply? If so, can you please direct me to where to locate it?

I just updated Showkase Pro from 1.36 to 1.40 and some configuration on one page is now off... so far I'm only seeing the problem in Chrome browser. I believe I may have done something previously to correct this, although I really am not sure. When I go to http://djphoto.com/video/ the videos are not lining up properly on the page, one of them shows a partial area of it again and the page no longer scrolls. Can you please take a look and let me know if you see what may be causing this and how to correct? Thank you!

I'm using Showkase Pro with Juicebox galleries. Some of the galleries have audio and play fine as soon as the pages are  loaded on a desktop PC. But on iOS devices and Android devices the audio is off by default and must be manually turned on. Is there a way to get it to load with the audio turned on with these devices by default? I don't think this is an Android or iOS function because other websites I have gone to load with audio.

Great- I was thinking it was okay, but just wanted to make sure... thanks!

I'm getting a lot of hit and miss results on my Showcase site homepage (djphoto-video.com, as well as all of the other pages on the site. There are times where the Google Mobile Test says all is good and then minutes later it will say "Failed to Fetch the Requested URL". Not sure if the problem lays within Google's tester, the server or the Showkase/Juicebox website. I even get this response from an about us page without a gallery.

Please take a look at a couple pages http://djphoto-video.com/location/, http://djphoto-video.com/product/, http://djphoto-video.com/about-us/ and let me know if you have any idea where the problem may be.

Thanks!

These solutions worked great! I was worried that each time I re-published I would have to go back and redo these changes, but fortunately they all stay in place. Thanks!

I have "page title" showing on the bottom of my gallery pages (ie. http://djphoto-video.com/architecture/), however on my "basic" pages http://djphoto-video.com/video/ it is showing at the top of the page. Is there a way to get the "basic" pages to keep the placement at the bottom?

Since I am using the "page" title for a slightly different purpose at the bottom of the page (as mentioned above), is there a way that I can still have the actual NAV name show at the top of the gallery image for the gallery category it is in (ie. Architecture, Product, People)?

Is there a way to get the "caption" to be bolder and/or not dim when the cursor is not hovering over it as in this example at the bottom of the main image http://djphoto-video.com/corporate-events/?

Thanks,

I know that Showkase has an option for robots.txt on the "contact" page to minimize spam, but is there also any way to turn on an email verification step?

Ultimately, updating the PHP at the host to 5.5 from 5.4 resolved this odd issue that was occurring.

For those that read these support topics to either fix problems they are encountering or just for general future knowledge, I want to say that the level of support and dedication that Steven put into finding out where the problem stemmed from was outstanding!

Thanks for your time and help!

That's fine, please send info. Thanks

I reinstalled Showkase but still no change. I see what you are referring to as far as web safe names and you are correct, it was my oversight, but I see that Showkase automatically renamed them appropriately. Just in case though I went back and re-uploaded some correctly from the start- still no change.

I have tried using a different browser- same results. Also, all of the images in other galleries on the same website work fine. These problem images when uploaded to the other galleries though, still don't work. Not sure if I mentioned that the other day.

The images do not appear on the 'Images' tab within Showkase or on the "Sort" tab or anywhere. The only place they can be seen is if I go through FTP to the directory. I can see they are there in the images folder, thumbs folder, but not the "large" or "small" folders. The other photos that show on the site are in all of the folders- including the "large" and "small" folders.

Is there anything with Juicebox that can or should be re-uploaded to the directory? The URL to the problem directory is: www.djphoto-video.com/people.

All EXIF data is removed and I did get it to display the gallery after running the script, but still no luck within Showkase. What's really strange is once again it is in the folders within the directory, but Showkase just doesn't recognize it being there... and always the same exact images. If I re-upload them again it just puts another set there (with "_1" added to the name).  I have renamed the images and uploaded, tried creating a different gallery name but nothing seems to work. To say this is driving me crazy is an understatement.

What else can I try?  I need these pictures to be visible.
