Topic: how to include video properly
Hello,
we are using showcase with juicebox and listviewer (pro versions) for our online portfolio and we are very happy with how it works with images. However, we are still trying to make our animations look better on it. (there are very few yet, compared to images where the hardest part was to select just best ones, but they are very important to show)
here is our current website link:
v-p-s.co.uk
I was able to manage all the fine tuning on image gallery, including minor adjustments to footer, main menu, various css changes - all working just fine! Here i want to say big thanks for clean and well thought css design guys.
But when you click menu item "Animations", you will probably won't applaud for blurry enlarged videos there, which won't fit in your screen.
How to do this:
custom handmade JPG images as video thumbnails
thumbnails aligned in a single column, centered (all source jpgs will have same size)
size auto-fills used display device - up to certain width (to avoid enlargement of images which makes them blurry)
clicking on the thumbnail will play video in fullscreen mode
I realise that there are questions and tasks not only for Showkase, but also which host to use for videos. Vimeo has ads when free, Youtube videos embeded on Listviewer page autofits screen width, which makes 4:3 videos actually larger than your monitor and therefor you won't see the whole video until you switch it to fullscreen playback, other video players require addons to page head tag (jscript) to work...
Which solution do you use guys? Or which would you recommend for general animations showcasing?
