Thanks for the reply. I actually am using Showkase 1.3.6, but in a subfolder where I am working on a site redesign.

Okay, I have discovered something that may somehow be the cause. I am using the Juicebox Photoshop plug-in to initially prepare the galleries. Some of the galleries output fine and as soon as it's done with the script it opens and shows the gallery in a browser. However, some open the browser but nothing shows- it's just blank. The whole gallery is small, only around 25-images... and the image folder is being populated with all of the files. Clicking on the index file will launch the gallery, but still no pictures show. Manually dragging the files into the Showkase upload box shows them all be uploaded successfully, but when going to the sort window they do not appear. It is always the same 5 out of 25-images that will not upload. I have gone into Photoshop and manually resized and saved these five as jpegs and tried uploading... same problem. Any idea what can possibly be preventing Showkase/Juicebox from accepting these pictures? If I double click on them they open in a browser just fine, but for some reason the gallery doesn't seem to like them.

I'm using Juicebox Pro within Showkase. Everything was working fine until... in order to take advantage of multi-size image support I went into the customize viewer tab and ticked the boxes large, medium and small. Now whenever I update and publish, rather than Showkase opening a browser page with the published site it instead opens a window with the correct address followed by "publish&token followed by a very long number. If I uncheck those selections it once again will bring me to the published site.

So the first question is what am I doing incorrectly with this?

Second question is why is it not placing any images within the large or small folders within the directory?

Tried the fix and it works perfectly on PC, iPad, Android phone... thanks exactly what I was looking for!

The only glitch I am encountering is regarding the size. You are correct in that YouTube does automatically list the size in the code to be pasted... or you can specify the size preferred. On my videos YouTube has it listed as 560x315 which would be fine, but on my page they are appearing 1024px wide. http://djphoto.com/video/

Is this because in Showkase under "customize theme" it calls for my gallery pages to be 1024px? I did put the videos on a "basic" page... not a gallery one. How can I get Showkase to honor the dimensions for the video on this page?

Thanks for your help!

Looking to place (embed) a couple YouTube videos on a page in my Showkase website. I am currently using Showkase Pro with Juicebox galleries and believe the YouTube videos need to be put into iFrames. Can this be done with Showkase? Please provide some steps to get me started. For example, what type of page can this be put on? Is there anyway to show the starting video frame within a gallery page?

Thank you!

Since updating to newest version of Showkase, my website djphoto.com is loading in browsers very slowly. I have not made any changes to picture sizes, turned on any new features or anything else. I just uploaded new version and republished. I don't think this is a server issue because this has been going on for days and other sites I visit load fine.

Any idea what is going on or what I can do to correct?

Thanks for the reply. Just a couple more questions...

The large, medium and small image size boxes call for maximum dimensions. Providing I can supply large enough pictures, are the default settings I am seeing of 2048x1536, 1024x768, 800x600 ones that should be used? I guess what I am asking is whether there is a basis for why these pixel dimensions were chosen as the default or are they simply just a starting guideline?

Also, the quality settings are showing as 80, 85 and 80 respectively? Any specific reason why these vary?

One last question. By design, I have all galleries currently showing as one size throughout my website, except for the Home Page. You can see for example on www.djphoto.com versus http://djphoto.com/architecture/. Is there a way to set this up while utilizing the multi-size image support and still be able to keep the home page gallery's maximum size different than the remaining galleries?

Just downloaded Showkase update (going from 1.3.0 to 1.3.2) to take advantage of multi size image support. I am using Kosel and Juicebox as my gallery viewer. To use the multi size image support do I just go to customize viewers, customize juicebox, multi size images and make a tick in the boxes for large, medium and small images? Are any other steps required?

Okay, thanks that helps solve that part of the mystery. Can you please be specific where I put the target tag? I don't see a place within the Showkase/Juicebox dialog boxes and not sure of which file would contain this data.

I am using a Juicebox Pro gallery and have a title over-layed on the large gallery image. I want to be able to click on the title and have the page re-directed to another page on the Showkase site. I would like it to open within the same window (not another tab or additional window). I had this working previously on my site, but now after replacing the gallery images and several other changes... it no longer works and I cannot figure out how I did it before.

I do have the url to the other page I want to direct to listed on the images page. How can I get that url to take effect when the title is clicked on?

Just to clarify, the file sizes on my desktop are exactly the same as what the files were in the Image folder. It's only after uploading through Showkase that they are so much larger in comparison to what they are on my desktop.

Overall it worked well, but I do have a a follow-up question. There was some portfolio pages where I chose to download the files from the Image folder via FTP, rename then and then through Showkase I selected the same exact pictures that were renamed and uploaded them again. When renaming then on my desktop I had right clicked the name and entered the new name. Now when I look at the file size I notice that the files sizes have grown (nearly doubled) for each picture. Why would this upload process cause the files to increase so large? I understand the name may have a small insignificant affect on file size, but each one almost doubling seems odd.

Sounds like that may work- I'll give it a try. Thanks!

I am using Showkase 1.2.0 with Juicebox as my viewer. I want to rename files in already existing galleries so they have descriptive names for better search engine results. I am not seeing a way to rename them within Showkase. I tried renaming one file directly in the image folder via the server's FTP site, but it caused Showkase to no longer see the picture.

I realize using a title or caption for each picture may help improve SEO, but I would rather not have the names visible as the galleries are viewed (just personal preference). Is there a way that I can manually rename them without starting all over with everything?

Thanks for any ideas or solution you may be able to think of!

Awesome! It would be great if the setting didn't get lost during an update, but most importantly this is exactly how I wanted the spacing on the page! Thank you for the tip!

If you set imageVAlign="CENTER" rather than imageVAlign="TOP", then the gap will be reduced (the main image will be vertically centered in the gallery's image area rather than aligned to the top, which leaves a noticeable gap at the bottom).

I have tried this and it does look better, but what I really want to do is raise the text to avoid so much scrolling downward on the homepage.

Your gallery also uses the default value for imageScaleMode ('SCALE_DOWN') so images smaller than the gallery's image area are not scaled up to fill it. Try either feeding your Juicebox gallery larger images (so that they are always large enough to have to be scaled down and fill the image area either left-to-right or top-to-bottom, depending on their aspect ratio) or set imageScaleMode="SCALE".

Some time ago I had the site set-up as you are suggesting, but there were some problems I was encountering and I changed it to the current settings per your suggestion. I don't remember exactly what the original problem was.

Another solution might be to reduce the height of your Juicebox gallery in 'Site -> Customize Theme -> Gallery Pages -> External Fit px'. Enter a negative value to reduce the height of the gallery.

Is it possible to do this without affecting other pages of the site? The homepage is the only page with this issue.

Thanks for the tip!

I would like to close the gap between the main image on the homepage (djphoto.com/work1) and the text block below it. If I center align the main image things look more balanced with the current position of the text, but ideally I would like to move them both upward. Does the current version of Showkase have a way to raise the text block as well or is there some other way to make this happen?

Showkase is working wonderfully, but I now need some direction with a possible workaround. The Juicebox gallery is fulfilling the needs as it was intended, however I also have the need to put up some images that are not an acceptable listed file type for Juicebox. Specifically, they are files that I can have the user move around or cycle through stages to show motion. An example can be seen at djphoto.com/work1/need_advice/ver4.html, where if you drag the picture with your mouse you will see it change. I understand that there is probably no way to get this to show on a Showkase page, but is there a way that I can put this on a "basic page" so the proper navigation links and logo still remain in place at the top of the page? I'm not opposed to adding the text and several photos like this in tables, but really want the page to have a consistent look/feel to the others that will be at the same address.

Thanks, I appreciate any direction or suggestions you can provide!

My site that I am currently working on appears pretty much the same on all browsers I have checked it on (FF, Chrome, Safari), except IE 9. It places the page links in a totally different manner. Is this something that can be fixed or is this something that IE just handles this way?

Also, the copy on the bottom of the Home Page breaks into two columns on all browsers other than IE. In this case I actually prefer not having it broken into two columns, but do not see any control for that where it is entered. Please let me know if there is a way to force one column. If it has to be in two columns is there a way to left and right justify the lines so they are easier to read?

The site address is djphoto.com/work1

Thank you.

Steven, I tried the options and do have the Auto Play now working on smaller devices (phones) with Splash Screen turned off. There is still one thing I am unclear on... at least for now :). I truly do appreciate the help!  I do like using the Auto Play and I don't care for using screenMode="SMALL" because of the sacrifice in appearance on larger screens. Is it the WordPress plug-in and/or WordPress that is responsible for putting the things I am looking for together as a full package?

I would like it to appear similar to acquaphoto(dot)com where both Auto Play, and auto scaling to both large and small screen sizes works. Can I get this with Showkase/Juicebox Pro or do I need WordPress and the WordPress plug-in to do this?

Thanks for the help! I'm still trying a couple things and have another couple questions.

On acquaphoto(dot)com (not the demo, but the real site) the Kossel theme works fine on the Android phones I looked at it with. I see that some stuff was probably added, but is it possible to have just the gallery with the rotating images and the text block below (the other galleries and links are not needed)? On mine it is cropping the photo greatly and the images only auto rotate on a PC or tablet... not on the phone.

I'm hoping the first question is possible, but if not... the iPhone simulation on the Juicebox site says to 'forceTouchMode' to true. I am not seeing "forceTouchMode". Where is that located and although this looks great on the demo how will it appear on a PC or larger tablet?

One other thing that I have noticed is that on the demo site (Sarah Lee) the photo is visible as well as the company logo in the upper left corner (on Android phone). In my site the photo is greatly cropped, but then when clicking on it I can view it smaller, but then the logo disappears. The demo site works very nicely without clicking on photo to reduce and the site stays in tact with the logo not disappearing. I would really like to replicate the feel of it.

Please let me know what settings I need to change to do this. I appreciate your help!

Yes, it is the splash page on the home page I am referring to (as well as the test I set-up on the portfolio product page). I currently have the showSplashPage set for AUTO. When I look at the demo "Sarah Lee Photography" the problem does not existon an Android phone. It also appears that the image size from both sites when viewed on a PC are very similar. I would like to achieve the same result as when that page is pulled up. Can you tell me what settings were used on the Sarah Lee site or how to accomplish this?
