Thanks, but still having same issue. Even when the "resize images" is unchecked the same thing occurs. For example, in this instance I uploaded an image that is 2048x1368. After it is uploaded and I go to the "images" tab, I can see the dimensions have changed to 1024x684.

Is there a setting somewhere else in Showkase that may be forcing it to this size?

I want to start using larger sized photos in my galleries. I am dragging photos into the Showkase Upload Photos dialog box that are 2048px wide and the dialog box to the right says "2048 x 1536", but after it is uploaded it is sized as only 1024px wide. I cannot find a way to get it to retain the larger size photos. Please let me know how to fix this. Thank you!

I am using Showkase Pro 1.7.5 and have previously had the Juicebox script in Photoshop size and optimize the photos for the website prior to uploading. With the latest update to Photoshop CC 2021, the Juicebox script was no longer present. I copied the Juicebox folder from the script folder of Photoshop CC 2020 and pasted it into the same area of Photoshop CC 2021, however now I am noticing that it says Juicebox Lite Options. Is there something else I need to do so it recognizes that I also have a Juicebox Pro license?

I see many websites transitioning to an effect where as the the page is scrolled, an image stays stagnant (https://www.meyerdentalgroup.net/). Is there anything in the works with Showkase or Juicebox that will offer this type of effect?

I have had several people tell me that zooming in on my Kosel galleries doesn't work (at least not well). I'm not sure if this is a Juicebox or Showkase issue, but I've tried and experience the same thing on an iPad and android phone. I then tried zooming in on the Sample Showkase galleries, same problem. At first it kinda starts to let you zoom in and then the image just gets smaller than where it originally started.

Since using gestures to zoom in on both phones and tablets is so common, it's expected to just work and not working makes it appear as something is wrong with my website.

Any possible solution to this?

Thanks!

With most DSLR's, smart phones and drones being capable of video, support for video would probably be a very well received feature to build into Showkase and its gallery viewers.

Thanks, I will play around with these suggestions some to see what works best. In the meanwhile, please make note to the developers that with most DSLR's, smart phones and drones being capable of video, support for video would probably be a very well received feature.

I am using Showkase with a Juicebox gallery. I know Juicebox does not support videos, but have a thought and am hoping you might be able to assist with a workaround. First let me briefly explain why I find it so important for both photos and videos to be shown on the same gallery (at least the previews). I do both drone photos and videos.

Showing just photos in a gallery, but saying in the copy that I do both is too easily overlooked.

Here is my initial thought. I would like to have a gallery with thumbnail previews showing photos  and the viewer will show the large image as normal. I would then also have a still image to represent a frame from the video showing in the gallery. This part would be easy to carry out. However, when selecting that thumbnail rather than just showing a large photo, it would instead be linked to a video (possibly opening in a new window). After viewing the short video, the new window could be closed and all of the preview thumbnail images for the Juicebox gallery would once again be visible. Any ideas to carry this out? ...or another idea so both the photos and videos can coexist in some manner?

That does help, thank you!

Will turning on "enableDirectLinks" within the Showkase set-up have a negative effect on page load times? I'm wondering because I think this will have the browser load a totally new URL each time and that may defeat any advantage that may have been seen with pre-loading images on a gallery page. I'd like to take advantage of the "enableDirectLinks" option, but only if there is not a possible slow down as well. Please let me know. Thanks!

Try entering the absolute path to a CSS or JavaScript file on your website

Can you show me an example of one of the paths you are referring to?

Add the code provided on this web page (there are many other web sites that provide similar code) to your root directory's .htaccess file

If these changes are made to use this compression, will it be lost each time I add photos or make a change to the website or when there is an updated Showkase version?

I checked that site and yes it does appear that the gzip compression is already active. Not sure how that happened, but as long as it's advantageous I'm good with that.

Once again thank you the direction with this!

Thank you, your review of these items does help. I will take a pass on the minifying. Please clarify one more thing. Does the report numbers and your experience with gzip compression also appear to be a non significant help in load times?

Thanks for replying so quickly and thoroughly. It is really appreciated!

When I use https://testmysite.thinkwithgoogle.com/ it shows it's great for mobile friendliness, but not so much for load times on either mobile or desktops. My homepage djphoto.com only has 5-images in a Juicebox gallery and the images aren't overly large, yet the score for loading is really low at approx 50/100. It shows recommendations, but I'm not sure if these changes can be made without messing up Showkase. Any thoughts on how things can be improved in terms of speed?

So, I actually found the page you were referring to and think I have it working as it should.

The one question I do have though, the "image title" and "alt tag" are designed to use the info (from the title) and be the same in both places?

Please see the Juicebox Search Engine Optimization support section for further information. The specifics refer to JuiceboxBuilder-Pro but Showkase provides similar functionality.

The link is going to a dead link. Please send new link.

Is there a place to add <img alt=””> tags to help with SEO?

Thanks Steven! You are correct, I only want to change how the gallery looks on the homepage. I have only changed the Showkase setting on the homepage to accommodate these images and they are all horizontal. I did go to "override site options" on the home page and adjusted the "External Fit px". This works okay on mobile devices, but just not crazy about having quite so much space on desktop monitors.

I think I originally changed the "Show Splash Page to NEVER" because it eliminated problems I was having when the page was scrolled. Prior to this when it was on "Auto" the picture was cropped square when the phone was held vertically. When the phone was held horizontally, the picture changed sizes as the page was scrolled up and down.

I'm not understanding what other setting you may be suggesting for this scenario with the Splash Page for mobile devices? Currently I have the "External Fit px" set to -240. Also, would decreasing the logo height be helpful at all?

I use wider than standard dimension photos in a gallery on my homepage. Because of this the spacing from the pictures to where the body copy is appears too great. I am having a difficult time finding a solution where I can move the text up higher and still have the image appear properly at varying resolutions. For example, I tried moving it higher and it worked great at several different monitor resolutions, but was unusable on a smart phone display.

I really want to maintain this picture proportion.. can you help guide me to a usable workaround?

I actually was able to copy the files out of the old Photoshop script folder and just pasted it into the new one. Seems to be working fine now.

I updated Photoshop from 2015 to 2015.5 and the Juicebox Photoshop Script extension is not present now. I tried reinstalling the script from the Adobe Add-ons page, but it still does not show. I then removed it from the Adobe Add-ons page and then re-added it again. Still not working although the Add-ons page show it as being "acquired" and it is set to sync.

Any solutions?

I ran a test on Google (testmysite.thinkwithgoogle.com and it recommends "Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content" to improve rankings. My site address is djphoto.com. Can you tell me if there is something in Showkase that can be optimized or changed to correct this and improve my overall rankings?

Thanks!
