Thanks Steven, this definitely helps. I don't have the web server up yet, but what I'm looking for is ease of use to put up and maintain the site. I appreciate your lengthy reply and I'll let you know how I make out!

I hope this isn't a stupid question. I'm new to hosting a web site but I have all the hardware at home and a static IP now. If I set up Ubuntu with Apache, will Showkase be a good fit to build the files I need for the site?
I don't know anything about coding but it looks like Showkase will take care of everything. I just have to use the desktop app and put the files on my server.
